- Urea is used when applying dye solutions directly to fabric, as in tie dyeing or hand painting.
- It slows the drying process; therefore it allows more time for the dye to react with the fiber and yields deeper shades.
- Urea can be used with Sodium Alginate thickener for screen printing, painting or direct dye application.
- Add 1 tablespoon/15 g Urea per 8 fl oz/0.24 L solution (1/4 cup/57 g per 1 qt/0.95 L of dye solution).
